Education Melbourne introduces Melrose Primary School in Wodonga, for all your education and learning needs.
Melrose Primary School is one of four “urban” government primary schools located in the rural city of Wodonga, Victoria, 300kms north of Melbourne on the Murray River. The “rural city” of Wodonga has a population of over 35 000 and is a town of industry and significant growth.
Melrose Primary is central and is close to the majority of parks and sporting facilities in the town including the Leisure Centre with gym and indoor pool, hockey centre, shopping centre, public transport, wetlands and playgrounds. The majority of students walk to school or come by private transport. A small number of students travel by bus to school.
At Melrose Primary School children are taught to become masters of their feelings rather than victims. In addition to daily instruction in literacy and numeracy, we also teach students the 5 pillars of emotional intelligence (empathy, self control, self awareness, motivation and managing relationships) in a daily one hour teaching block. Our staff are committed to making a difference for our students by teaching them the skills and behaviours necessary for achieving success in an uncertain and changing future.
Welcome to Melrose Primary School one of the popular educators in your Wodonga area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
